Lawrence M. Hecker is the managing partner of Hecker Pew, PLLC.

Mr. Hecker’s law practice focuses primarily in the areas of corporate and general business law, securities regulation, real estate, business start‑up, capital formation transactions, corporations, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.  Mr. Hecker is a frequent panelist and speaker on securities regulations and corporate law and capital formation education seminars.

Mr. Hecker received both his Bachelor of Arts degree (1969) and his Juris Doctor (1972) from the University of Arizona.  He was on the Board of the Arizona Department of Transportation from 1979 through 1983, serving as Chairman in his last year, and was Chief of Staff to Governor Bruce Babbitt from 1983 through 1984.  He has served as Chairman of the Securities Regulations Section of the State Bar of Arizona and is a member of the Securities Regulations and Business Law Sections of the State Bar of Arizona.

Mr. Hecker is Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona, College of Law teaching Law and Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Hecker is listed in the 1991-2022 editions of Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Corporate Law, Business Organizations, Venture Capital Law, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Governance Law and holds an AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale Hubbell.  He is included in Arizona’s Finest Lawyers – 2021.

Attorney Will Pew brings many years of practical experience as both a commercial real estate broker and, more recently, a small business owner to Hecker Pew. Will focuses his practice on general business law, representing entities and corporate executives in capital transactions, licensing, contract negotiations, commerical real estate, entity formation, and employment related matters.

Previously, Will worked for CB Richard Ellis in New York City where he engaged with Fortune 500 companies focused primarily on negotiating commercial lease acquisitions and dispositions. Additionally, he has experience owning and running a custom furniture business and is an accomplished woodworker. Will has worked in the past with Southern Arizona Legal Aid and the Volunteer Lawyers Program volunteering in the Domestic Relations, Mortgage, Bankruptcy, and Child and Family Law clinics helping low-income families and individuals with a variety of legal issues.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law, Will graduated with distinction, including Summa Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. While in law school, in addition to serving as an editor for the Arizona Law Review, Will was a member of both the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Team and the College’s Transactional Law Meet Team.

A Tucson native, Will is dedicated to the community and is an active member of the Desert Angels.  He is also currently serving on the Board of Trustees of Tucson Community School (preschool).  Recent Board service includes both the Gregory School (grades 5-12) and the Arizona Theater Company.  Will remains active with the Gregory School, serving on its Governance Committee and at the Arizona College of Law and has, in the past, been an Adjunct Professor, teaching the Transactional Law Meet skills class and as a coach to the Transactional Law Meet Team.  Previously, Will served for several years as the president of the Catalina Foothills Association, a neighborhood association representing over 1600 homes.  Outside of work, Will enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters. He is an avid traveler, outdoorsman, and skier and enjoys adventure and exposure to diverse cultures, food, and people.

Christopher focuses on business law and commercial real estate at Hecker Pew, applying a unique combination of entrepreneurial experience and negotiation expertise as an associate attorney in our practice.

Christopher holds a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University, graduated magna cum laude from New York Law School in 2015 with a focus in corporate law, and holds a Securities Law Certification from Cornell Law. After law school, he gained valuable entrepreneurial experience as an early employee at multiple tech startups in Phoenix, handling responsibilities across marketing, sales, operations, and high-level strategy.

Admitted to practice in Arizona in December 2020, Christopher quickly distinguished himself in litigation practice and was recruited by a top Phoenix firm.  After practicing for 5 years in Phoenix, Christopher recently relocated to Tucson with his wife, a University of Arizona alumna and Tucson native, and their two daughters.  He is eager to be an accelerant in the startup ecosystem assisting entrepreneurs and businesses capitalize and execute.
